한국 피아노교수법 연구의 현황과 과제

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 그동안 지속되어 온 피아노 교수학 관련 연구들의 연구유형과 주제들을 파악하여 한국 피아노교수법 연구의 현황을 밝히고 미래의 한국 피아노교수법 연구가 나아가야할 방향 및 과제를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 한국에서 출간되는 대부분의 논문이 포함된 한국교육학술정보원에서 제공하는 논문 검색엔진인 RISS(www.riss.kr)를 통해, 그동안 한국에서 출간되어온 피아노교수법 관련 논문들의 데이터를 확보하여, 한국 피아노교수법 연구의 동향을 분석하고, 앞으로 나아갈 과제를 제시해 보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 한국 피아노교수법 연구는 한국 피아노교수법 학회의 발전과 맥을 함께하고 있었으며, 5시기로 구분된 피아노교수법학회의 역사적 흐름과 정확히 일치하는 발전 양상을 보였다. 둘째, 피아노교수법 학회지인 ‘음악교수법연구’가 전체 한국 피아노교수법 연구논문의 73%(n=112)를 포함하고 있어, 피아노 교수법 연구에 중추적 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 피아노교수법 연구대상별 분석 결과 62.7%(n=96)가 대학생(전문가) 및 초등학생에 집중되어 있고, 유아, 성인, 특수계층에 대한 연구는 거의 없어 연구대상의 쏠림현상이 심각한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 피아노교수법 연구의 76%(n=117)의 논문이 문헌연구방법을 사용하고 있고, 양적연구는 11%(n=18)에 그쳐, 피아노교수법 연구의 연구방법론적 다양성을 확보하는 것이 시급한 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the methodological trend of piano pedagogy research in Korea and provide suggestions to the future research direction of Korean piano pedagogy. In order to achieve this goal, this study used RISS (www.riss.kr), the web search-engine regulated by Korean government for collecting and analyzing data. The results of this study are as following. First, the developmental stages of the Korean piano pedagogy research was the same as those of the Korean Association of Piano Pedagogy(KAPP). Secondly, the ‘Research in Music Pedagogy(RMP)’, a main journal of KAPP, was the most important journal contributing studies of Korean piano pedagogy in that 73% of piano pedagogical studies in Korea was published in RMP. Thirdly, research subjects in Korean piano pedagogy focused on college and elementary students while toddlers, adults, and special needs were very limited. Lastly, majority of Korean piano pedagogy studies were review articles(76%). Thus, studies in Korean piano pedagogy needs to balance research methodologies and subjects.
