국내 친환경 실외 어린이놀이터의 친환경성 평가와 사용자 인식

Abstract

연구배경: 최근 어린이의 건강과 안전을 위협하고 창의적인 놀이활동을 제한하는 획일적 놀이터 공간의 문제점들이 지적되는 가운데 이를 지원하는 친환경 어린이놀이터의 중요성이 점차 강조되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 아직 국내에는 보편적이지 않은 친환경 어린이놀이터의 개념 설정 및 유형을 구분하는 한편, 유형별 사례를 대상으로 평가지표로 구성된 체크리스트를 이용하여 놀이공간과 놀이시설 등에 대한 친환경성을 평가하고 이용자들의 인식을 파악하고자 하는 것이다. 연구방법: 문헌조사를 통해 친환경 어린이놀이터의 개념을 정의하고 유형을 분류하는 한편 친환경성 평가를 위한 체크리스트를 도출하였다. 또한 친환경 어린이놀이터 유형별 사례조사대상지 8곳에 대한 현장조사를 통해 체크리스트에 근거한 친환경성을 평가하였다. 그밖에 이용자들을 대상으로 친환경 어린이놀이터에 대한 인식 파악을 위한 면접조사를 진행하였다. 연구결과: 친환경 어린이놀이터의 유형은 규모 및 주된 놀이유형에 따라 자연형, 생태체험학습형, 에너지교육형, 리사이클형의 4가지로 구분할 수 있었다. 각 유형별 사례놀이터를 객관적으로 평가하기 위해 ‘친환경성’ 및 ‘공통특성’의 두 차원을 중심으로 총 27개의 세부지표로 구성된 체크리스트를 도출하였다. 평가 결과 대체로 대규모 어린이 공원들이 중규모의 아파트 단지내 놀이터보다 다양한 자연요소들과 체험학습적인 놀이특성 등 친환경적인 요소를 더 많이 적용하고 있었다. ‘공통특성’ 차원에서 안전 및 유지관리성 관련 지표의 경우 일부 대규모 어린이 공원은 놀이기구의 안전상태가 미흡했으며, 중규모 아파트놀이터에서는 놀이터 바닥재 파손이 많이 관찰되었고 운영관리와 관련된 문서나 매뉴얼 비치가 미비한 곳이 있었다. 면접조사 결과 이용자들 대부분이 친환경 어린이놀이터에 대한 인식이 부족하였다. 결론: 지자체에서 운영 관리하는 대규모 어린이 공원의 경우 아파트단지 내에 위치한 중규모 어린이놀이터에 비해 전반적으로 친환경적 속성을 좀 더 많이 내포하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 친환경 어린이놀이터의 보급 확산과 소비자의 긍정적 인식 개선 방안 모색을 위해 양적조사와 더불어 다양한 홍보 및 소비자 교육이 필요하다.

Background: The purpose of this study was to define the concept, classify the types of eco-friendly children 's playgrounds, evaluate the eco-friendliness of subject cases using checklist, and identify user’s awareness of eco-friendly children’s playground. Methods: Through the literature survey, we defined the concept of eco - friendly children 's playground and classification of types, and derived an evaluation checklist. Based on the criteria for each type of eco-friendly children 's playground, 8 sites were selected and evaluated based on the checklist. In addition, interview with users were executed to get qualitative data. Result: Types of eco--friendly children’s playground could be classified into four: nature based, ecological learning experience, green energy education, and recycled playground. Evaluation checklist was composed of 2 dimensions -common characteristics and eco-friendliness- with 27 indicators. In general, large-scaled children’;s parks showed more various nature-based elements than medium- sized playgrounds. Most of the large-scaled children's parks had more eco-friendly learning play facilities than medium-sized children’s playgrounds. In the safety and maintenance, some large-scaled children’s playground were poorly installed with safety equipment. There were lack of maintenance manuals in some cases of medium-sized sites. Most of the users showed low level of awareness for eco-friendly children’s playground. Conclusion: Large-scaled children’s park had more eco-friendly elements than medium-sized playgrounds. In order to promote the spread of eco-friendly children's playgrounds and to improve consumers awareness, a follow-up quantitative research and various types of consumer education should be carried out.
