- Abstract
- Graphene oxide's advantages compared to other materials, such as catalytic potential in electronic fields, led to an investigation of graphene oxide sheets (GS) in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) with respect to energy conversion efficiency (%), open-circuit photovoltage, short-circuit photocurrent density, and fill factor. The different concentrations of GS were synthesized with a Pt precursor and the effects of GS-Pt composite were examined for use as counter electrodes. The energy conversion efficiency of DSSCs with GS-Pt composites enhanced performance up to 6.60% when 0.01 wt% GS was applied on counter electrodes. In addition, we found that GS increases (111) the crystallinity of Pt as well as surface area, allowing catalytically active sites for tri-iodide reduction. © 2022
