- Abstract
- In this paper, we investigate performance of the packet data transfer over the circuit data transfer for non-real time, busty data in the cdma2000. The packet mode approach in the up link and down link directions eliminates inefficiencies associated with circuit data transfer leading to the capacity and throughput gains. The gains associated with deployment of CCCH/CCCH are traffic model dependent. However, the results in this paper show that the improvement due to use of common packet channels over the dedicated channels can be quite significant. © 2005 IEEE.
