- Abstract
- This Study examined the historical meaning of Korea's Olympic and statism focusing on Berlin Olympic of national resistance. Montreal Olympic of national prestige, Seoul Olympic and Sydney Olympic of raising national image. It reached the following conclusion.
Korea's Olympic and statism had developed through the process of Japanese colonial era, ideological confliction after independence, the division of Korea after the Korean war and economic growth. This passed through the process of national resistance, enhancement of national prestige and rasing national image. Although the time and circumstance are different. Korea's Olympic and statism have great historical meaning in the way that it gave people courage, hope, and confidence through a vicarious pleasure.
