- Abstract
- Isomeric states in Ge-67 and Ge-69 excited in heavy-ion reactions have been used to probe hyperfine fields, H(hf)(x), at the Ge-site in dilute Fe(1-x)Ge(x) alloys as a function of the concentration x (0.0 less-than-or-equal-to x less-than-or-equal-to 4.0 at.%) by the TDPAD technique. The net spin density DELTA-rho-i(0) at the Ge nucleus, deduced from these data as a function of radial distance to the neighboring Fe atom, shows the RKKY-type oscillatory behavior of the conduction electron polarization.
