Abstract
Microfluidic devices are becoming a standard method of lab analysis of many different types of samples. This letter presents a uniquely shaped micropost structure set in an arrayed fashion for sensing and cell capture purposes. After simulating the design to confirm its improved functionality, a model cell line was used to determine the capture yield and capture rate of the device. Specific capture was achieved by coating the array of microposts with antibodies that target the epithelial cell adhesion molecule, a common biomarker for many types of metastatic cancer.
