- Abstract
- We present an intuitive virtual reality interaction method that manipulates virtual objects and expresses hand gestures for immersive virtual environment. The proposed object manipulation model includes virtual reality interactions such as grabbing, holding, dropping, and shaking, where haptic feedbacks corresponding to user’s hand movements are applied. We apply acceleration based on a finite difference method to generate realistic vibrations for haptic interaction. Our system also incorporate a efficient method to visualize gestures in an intuitive way for users to change the gesture by pressing the controller’s touchpad. The experimental results show a virtual reality interaction in which a user manipulates objects and expresses hand gestures in a virtual environment.
