Abstract
Recently Field excitation flux switching machine (FEFSM) design attains researcher's attention owing to have low-cost machine as compared to permanent magnet machine. Single phase field excited flux switching machines (SP-FEFSM) are widely used in industrial applications due to its high power and torque capabilities, high efficiency, and resilient rotor structure. The applications of previously proposed SP-FEFSM are limited in some industries due to its inner rotor structure. This paper presents a novel outer rotor 8-Slot/10-pole SP-FEFSM with non-overlap winding, robust rotor structure, and high torque density, making it viable for high-speed industrial applications. The performance of proposed structure is analyzed in terms of flux linkage, cogging torque, back emf, instantaneous torque, average torque vs power, copper losses and efficiency using JMAG-Designer software. © 2021 IEEE.
