dc.description.abstract | The B (Soret) and Q band of silver dimer complex were blue-shifted against a non-centrosymmetrical phthalocyanine due to the electron-withdrawing effect of the silver metal ions, indicating a decrease of HOMO energy level. According to the FT-IR spectroscopy, the two spectra between a non-centrosymmetrical phthalocyanine and its silver dimer complex are not very different. The absorption peaks of silver dimer complex at 1358 and 875 cm(-1) are not too strong compared to a non-centrosymmetrical phthalocyanine, indicating that NO3- counter ions could not be detected. A non-centrosymmetrical phthalocyanine shows an asymmetric sharp signal due to free radicals reported in metal-free phthalocyanine (H2Pc) and the peak-to-peak linewidth (Delta H-pp) is 8.55G. Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) demonstrate that 10% (0.1 mgx100/1 mg) of silver content in the sample solution is in fair agreement with c.a. 7% (107x2/2993), silver content in the dimer complex, considering possible experimental errors during the preparation of sample solutions. | - |
