Abstract
Performance, capacity and durability of a battery having direct effects on cost, performance and reliability of electric vehicles are dependent on the thermal management system of the battery. Studies on heating/cooling methods using air, liquid or phase change material (PCM) have been conducted during last several years. In this paper, flow of fluid inside the battery module and cooling effects of the battery cell were confirmed by utilizing the finite element method, arrangements for a battery cell capable of effectively cooling the battery were presented through changing the interval between battery cells by giving a weighted value rather than the same value, which was quantitatively verified. © Research India Publications.
