Abstract
Shape optimization of high voltage direct current (HVDC) joint using shape design sensitivity analysis considering nonlinear conductivity is presented in this paper. The electric field distribution of HVDC devices is a resistive field. Also, the nonlinear conductivity is expressed in terms of the temperature and electric field distribution. In this paper, the shape design sensitivity formula is derived, and a conductor geometry for relaxing the concentration of electric field is presented using design sensitivity analysis. ©2006 IEEE.
