- Abstract
- This paper presents some interesting results in the analysis of some defective photonic band-gap (PBG) structures on a coplanar waveguide. PBG structures have been broadly applied in recent years in communications and microelectronics areas. They are formed by periodic circuit elements and act as a band-stop device in which unwanted signals at certain frequency range are filtered. Frequency characteristics are usually determined either numerically or experimentally. Nevertheless, with a slight distortion of a PBG pattern, interesting pattern characterizing the perturbed source is imposed on the original characteristics of the PBG, which leads to broad studies in scattering and inverse scattering areas.
