남녀 노인의 성생활에 영향을 미치는 요인 및 결과

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 노인의 성생활에 있어서 남녀 간의 차이가 있을 것이라는 기존 연구를 점검한 후 실제로 남녀 노인의 성생활 영향요인 및 성생활 효과가 얼마나 다르게 나타날지를 살펴보고, 그 원인을 살펴보는 것이다. 분석 결과, 남성이 여성보다, 연령이 낮을수록, 소득이 높을수록, 학력이 높을수록 적극적 성생활을 성생활 횟수도 많은 것으로 나타났다. 다만 배우자 유무는 기존 연구와 달리 성생활에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 한편, 남녀 노인의 성생활은 소득과 함께 육체적· 정신적 건강, 자신감, 삶의 만족, 사회활동, 인간관계에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 일상생활에 있어서 남성 노인은 여성 노인보다 육체적 건강을 높게 느끼고 있으며, 자신감이 높고 사회활동을 많이 하고 있다. 남성 노인은 적극적인 성생활이 육체적 건강, 정신적 건강, 자신감, 삶의 만족, 사회활동, 가족관계, 이웃관계, 친구관계, 친척관계 등 대부분의 일상생활에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 성생활 횟수는 일상생활에 별로 영향을 미치지 않고 있다. 이와 달리 여성 노인은 남성 노인에 비해 친구관계와 친척관계가 상대적으로 활발하다. 그리고 여성 노인은 적극적인 성생활이 육체 건강, 자신감, 삶의 만족, 사회활동, 가족관계 이웃관계 등에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으나, 적극적 성생활이 소득에 비해 일상생활에 낮은 영향을 나타냈으며, 남성 노인에 비해 적극적 성생활의 영향력이 낮았다. 여성 노인은 남성 노인과 달리 성생활 횟수가 정신적 건강, 자신감, 이웃관계, 친척관계 등 다수의 일상생활에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있다. 이상의 연구 결과 남녀 노인 모두 육체적 건강, 정신적 건강, 자신감, 삶의 만족, 사회활동 등 일상생활과 가족, 이웃, 친구, 친척 등 인간관계를 높이는데 성생활이 매우 중요한 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여준다. 특히 남성 노인에게는 적극적인 성생활이 대부분의 일상생활이 다른 어떤 변수보다도 강한 영향을 미치고 있다는 점이 밝혀졌다. 이러한 결과는 노인 관련 정책을 추진함에 있어서 젊은이와 같이 성생활을 매우 중요한 고려 대상으로 삼아야 한다는 것을 제시한다.

The older males feel higher in physical health, have high self-confidence, and are engaged in many social activities than female seniors. In addition, while active sex life positively affects most daily life such as physical health, mental health, confidence, life satisfaction, social activity, family relationship, neighbor relationship, friend relationship, and relative relationship, the number of sexual activities in the elderly male, the number of sex lives doesn't affect the old men’s life. On the other hand, female seniors have relatively active friendships and relatives compared to male seniors. In the elderly women, the influence of active sex life is lower the elderly men. Also, unlike the male elderly, the number of sexual lives has a positive effect on many daily lives such as mental health, self-confidence, neighbors, and relatives. This results show that sex life has a very important effect on improving daily life and human relationships for both men and women. In particular, it was found that active sex life had a stronger influence than any other variable for the elderly male.
