- Abstract
- Ru/Co/Ti catalysts prepared by two-step electrodeposition and subsequent annealing were applied to the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) during acidic water electrolysis. The Co interlayers, which were electrodeposited for varying deposition times, strongly affected the morphology of the Ru/Co/Ti catalysts after annealing. Cracks and rolled-up parts appeared, and Co oxide nanowalls became attached to the Ru surface. During the initial stages of the OER, a synergetic effect was observed between Ru and the Co oxides. The Ru/Co/Ti catalyst demonstrated approximately three to four-fold higher activity than the Co interlayer-free Ru/Ti catalyst.
