30년 이상 고경력 국⋅공립 유치원 교사의 교직 생애 경험의 의미

Abstract

목적 본 연구에서는 국⋅공립 유치원의 고경력 유치원 교사의 삶과 교직경험을 연구하여 그 의미를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 경상남도 소재 국⋅공립 유치원에서 30년 이상의 경력을 가진 교사 5명을 대상으로 2023년 1월 초 ~ 4월 초까지각 2회기에 걸쳐 심층 면담을 실시하였으며, 통화 및 메신저를 통해 추가적인 자료를 수집하고, 연구참여자들의 면담자료는 유목분석방법을 사용하여 개방코딩작업을 진행하였다. 이후 주제별로 범주화하였으며, 반복적 비교 과정과 귀납적 과정을 거쳐 연구 결과및 해석의 과정을 진행하였다. 결과 연구참여자들은 멘토도 없는 고된 초임 교사 생활을 시작하며 좌절과 갈등을 겪었지만, 교사로서 보람을 느끼고 성장하였다. 권위주의적인 시대에서 개인의 권리가 중요시되는 시대로의 변화에 따라 교육현장에서 만나는 사람들과의 관계, 교육과정, 교육환경의 변화에 적응하기 위해 고경력 국⋅공립 유치원 교사들은 노력하였고, 때로는 전문성이 흔들리는 경험을 하기도 한다. 또한 교권추락과 행정 업무의 과중과 같은 문제를 극복하기 위한 제도적 지원이 마련되야함을 알 수 있었다. 결론 고경력 국⋅공립 유치원 교사의 교직 생애 경험과 의미는 우리나라 교육현장의 역사이며, 유아교육 현장을 이해하고 유치원교사의 발달을 위해 어떠한 노력과 제도적 지원이 필요한지 근거가 되었다.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to study the life and teaching experiences of high-career kindergarten teachers in national and public kindergartens and explore their meaning. Methods To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted for 5 teachers with more than 30 years of experience in national and public kindergartens in Gyeongsangnamdo for two sessions each from early January ~ early April 2023, and additional data were collected through phone calls and messages and the interview data of the research participants were conducted in open coding using the nomadic analysis method. Afterward it was categorized by topic, and the process of research results and interpretation was carried out through an iterative comparison process and an inductive process. Results The participants experienced setbacks and conflicts as they began a grueling first-time teaching career without a mentor, but they found it rewarding and grew as teachers. In response to the change from an authoritarian era to an era where individual rights are valued, high-career national and public kindergarten teachers have made efforts to adapt to changes in their relationships, curricula, and educational environment with the people they meet in the educational field, and sometimes their professionalism is shaken. It was also seen that institutional support needed to be provided to overcome problems such as the fall of the teaching authority and the heavy administrative workload. Conclusions The teaching life experience and significance of high-career national and public kindergarten teachers is the history of the educational field in Korea, and it was the basis for understanding the field of early childhood education and what kind of efforts and institutional support are needed for the development of kindergarten teachers.
