- Abstract
- We proposed a spectrally tunable photonic crystal (PC) cavity that is also relocatable spatially. The PC cavity is formed by setting a microsized dielectric sphere on a defect-free PC slab at a desired point. The resonant wavelength of the PC cavity can be tuned from 1343 to 1725 nm by changing the parameters of the sphere, e.g., the radius or the refractive index. In addition, the wavelength is also adjusted finely (similar to 5 nm) by moving the sphere upward. (C) The Authors. Published by SPIE under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License.
