광주 고려인 마을 가족의 자녀 양육 경험과 부모교육에 대한 요구분석: 부모교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 연작 연구2

Abstract

본 연구는 국내 다문화가정 중 재외동포 고려인 가족의 부모교육을 위한 연작 연구 두 번째편으로 광주 고려인 마을 가족의 자녀 양육 경험과 부모교육에 대한 요구를 살펴보았다. 이에 고려인 가정의 부모와 아동 및 유관기관 관계자를 연구 참여자로 선정하고 심층 면담과 현지 조사등을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며 구체적인 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고려인 가족들은 자녀양육에서 생계를 위해 늦게까지 일하며 자녀와 관계가 소원해지고 자녀의 이중언어 교육과 학습부진 및 또래 관계 문제에 대해 어려움을 경험하였다. 둘째, 고려인 부모들은 자녀가 다니는 교육기관에서 통역과 한국어 교육을 위한 전문인력을 배치하여 기관과 가정 간의 연계를 위해 소통하는 경우 기관과 교사에 대한 신뢰감을 형성하고 높은 만족감을 표현하였다. 셋째, 연구 참여자들은 고려인 아동의 성장 발달에서 중요한 것으로 건강한 자아정체성 확립을 제시하였고 이는 부모의 국적과 자녀의 출생 국가 및 주요 사용 언어 등에 따라 다양한 양상을 보였다. 넷째, 고려인가족과 유관기관 관계자들은 고려인 자녀의 양육지원을 위한 방안으로 부모교육 프로그램이 필요하다고 하였고 교육목표 및 내용, 교수학습 방법과 운영전략 등의 측면에서 지원을 요구하였다. 본 연구는 국내 거주 고려인 가족의 특성을 고려한 부모교육 프로그램 개발을 위해 고려인 부모의 자녀 양육 경험과 부모교육에 대한 지원 요구를 면밀하게 분석했다는 점에서 의미가 있으며이것이 국내 고려인 가족을 위한 부모교육과 지원정책을 도모하는 주요 시작이 되기를 바란다.

This study, the second part in a series on parental education programs for Koryein families, examined the experiences of raising children and the needs for parental education of Koryein village families in Gwangju. To this end, Koryein families and officials from related institutions were selected as research participants, and data were collected through in-depth interviews and field investigations. The specific results of the study are as follows. First, Koryein families worked late so as to make ends meet while raising their children, had estranged relationships with their children, and worried about their children experiencing difficulties with bilingual education, a lack of learning, and their peer relationships. Second, Koryein parents formed trust in the institution and expressed a high degree of satisfaction in the case of arranging professional personnel for interpreting and the Korean language education at their children's educational institutions, in addition to communicating with their families. Third, research participants suggested the establishment of a healthy self-identity as an important factor in the growth and development of Koryein children, which showed various aspects depending on the parents' nationality, the children's birth country and their native language. Fourth, Koryein families and related organizations stated that a parental education program was needed as a way to support raising Koryein children, and requested support in terms of educational goals and contents, teaching and learning methods, and operational strategies. This study is meaningful in that it closely analyzed the Koryein parents' experience of raising children and their needs for support via parental education to develop a parental education program that considers the characteristics of Koryein families living in Korea.
