- Abstract
- The diagnosis of iliolumbar syndrome is made by history taking, physical examination, imaging, and appropriate diagnostic injections; therefore, accurate injection is necessary. We describe an accurate fluoroscopy-guided iliolumbar ligament injection technique. A 69-year-old man presented with 4 months of severe, right lower back pain. Fluoroscopy-guided injection of the iliolumbar ligament was performed using the transverse process of the fifth lumbar vertebra. The patient had complete resolution of his symptoms without recurrence. This case report is the first to describe accurate fluoroscopy-guided injection of the iliolumbar ligament.
