Abstract
Based on valuable efforts of plastic surgeons and material researchers aimed at overcoming the limitations of reactions to implants as a foreign body, the field of implant research has made great progress. Further studies and process development are required before the clinical application of these novel implants. Multimodal techniques for the functional modification of the properties of these implant surfaces will contribute to the establishment of a variety of prosthesis choices for patients, significantly reduce complications associated with implants, and lead to the production of implants as ideal biomaterials.
