Paratesticular Liposarcoma Misdiagnosed as a Hydrocele

Abstract

We introduce a case of liposarcoma in paratesticular region misdiagnosed as a scrotal non-communicating hydrocele in 64-year-old man. Liposarcoma of paratesticular tissues is very rare and preoperative diagnosis is difficult. Radical orchiectomy with wide local excision including paratesticular tissues was performed and its histological finding showed well differentiated liposarcoma. Careful physical examination and radiologic studies including scrotal sonography or computed tomography were necessary preoperatively to diagnose. Sarcoma including liposarcoma should be considered for scrotal mass, especially in old age patients. We report a case of well differentiated paratesticular liposarcoma with brief review of the literatures.
