문화예술인의 예술근로 만족에 관한 연구: 스로스비의 근로선호모형 적용

Abstract

본 연구는 문화예술인력 특성을 반영한 스로스비(Throsby, 1994)의 근로선호모형이 우리나라에 적용되는지를 검토한다. 2012년 문화예술인 실태조사 자료를 이용하여 모형의 적용여부를 먼저 실증분석한 후, 좀 더 구체적으로 문화예술인의 인적 및 사회경제적 특성들이 예술근로만족에 미치는 효과에 대해서 살펴본다. 주요결과에 따르면, 우리나라 문화예술인력은 예술근로시간이 증가하는 경우와 생활에 필요한 적절한 예술소득이 충족하는 경우에 예술근로의 만족도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 적정한 소득수준을 넘는 예술인들은 근로만족에 미치는 영향이 상대적으로 낮게 나타나 스로스비의 근로선호모형이 우리나라에 적용됨을 확인하였다. 한편, 가구생활수준과 창작지원금수혜여부를 모형에 포함한 결과 두 변수가 예술근로만족에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤고 모형 설명력 또한 증가시켰다. 또한 문화예술분야 간 이질성을 고려하여 순수예술과 비순수예술 인력 간의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 순수예술인력은 소득이 늘어나면 더 만족을 하고 지원빈도와 규모가 상대적으로 적은 민간 창작지원금을 받으면 덜 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of Throsby’s work-preference model(1994) to Korean artists. More specifically, we estimate the effect of socio-demographic and economic factors on the job satisfaction of artists using 2012 Survey Report on Artists and Activities data. The results show that longer work hours and appropriate income levels have a positive impact on the job satisfaction of artistic workers. This empirical evidence suggests that Throsby’s work-preference model can be applied to Korean artists. In addition, we found that higher job satisfaction can be attributed quality of life and grant benefits. Considering the heterogeneity in art and cultural sectors, it was separated into pure art and non-pure art job categories. The results suggest that artists in pure art jobs are more satisfied with as income increases and that the job satisfaction of art labor depends on the type and size of grants.
