창업지향성, 탐험적 및 활용적 혁신활동이 기업성과에 미치는 영향: 기술지향성의 조절역할

Abstract

본 연구는 창업지향성이 탐험적 및 활용적 혁신활동에 미치는 영향, 탐험적 및 활용적 혁신이 기업성과에 미치는 영향, 혁신활동과 기업성과 간의 관계에 있어서 기술지향성의 조절효과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 자료는 서울, 인천, 경기지역에 소재하고 있는 144개 중소기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 수집되었다. 실증분석 결과에 따르면 첫째, 창업지향성의 하위요인 중 진취성과 위험감수성은 두 가지 혁신활동에 각각 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 탐험적 혁신활동과 활용적 혁신활동은 각각 기업성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 기술지향성은 각 혁신활동과 기업의 재무성과 간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 중소기업 경영자들이 진취성과 위험감수성을 가진 기업문화를 형성하는데 노력하고, 조직 내·외부의 자원과 역량을 활용한 지속적인 혁신활동을 기반으로 기술지향성을 추구하는 것이 중요하다는 실무적 시사점을 제시한다.

This study examined the effects of entrepreneurial orientation, the effects of exploratory and exploitative innovation on financial performance, and the moderating effects of technology orientation on the relationship between these two innovation activities and financial performance in medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Data were collected from 114 SMEs located in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do area, Korea. The results are as follows: First, proactiveness and risk-taking among three sub-dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) had positive effects on those two innovation activities. Second, exploration and exploitation innovation were positively related to financial performance in SMEs, respectively. Third, technology orientation moderated the relationship between the two innovation activities and financial performance. The practical implication of the results suggest that executives of SMEs try to foster corporate culture with proactiveness and risk-taking, including continuous innovation activities based their resources internal and external.
