고고학적 탐구 서사와 역사 철학적 알레고리

Abstract

본고는 최인훈의 예술관과 역사 철학적 사유가 텍스트 생성 양식과 미적 구성 형식을 통해 본격적으로 구현된 작품으로 『서유기』를 선택하고, 텍스트 생성 원리인 ‘고고학적 탐구 방법’과 ‘알레고리적 기호 형식’의 기능과 의미를 밝혀서 이 작품의 문학사적 위상과 가치를 재고하려는 목적으로 진행되었다. 『서유기』는 로만스(romance) 양식의 탐구적 환몽 구조를 바탕으로 개인과 역사의 심처에 파묻힌 정신사적 원체험의 의미를 알레고리적 형식 기법을 통하여 극단적으로 천착해 들어간 반리얼리즘 소설이다. 소설의 서사를 추동하는 ‘고고학적 탐구’의 의미 기능은 개인의 심층에 묻혀 있는 역사적 과거의 왜곡된 의미상을 발굴하고, 또한 이 작업의 끝에서 발견된 '원초적 경험'의 이미지를 민족의 집단 무의식적 소망으로 재신화화하여 훼손된 역사와 삶을 회복시키려는 상징적 소설 미학을 포괄한다. 이처럼 개인적 층위와 역사적 층위, 과거의 시대와 현재의 시대의 변증법적 교호 작용을 통해 알레고리적으로 이끌어낸 인간과 역사적 삶에 대한 새로운 인식 지평이야말로 『서유기』의 고고학적 상상력이 성취해낸 현대 소설적 가치가 될 것이다.

This thesis proposes on reconsidering the status and value of Choi In-hoon's novel 「Seoyougee」 withinhistory of literature by enunciating the function and meaning of 'the archaeological researching narration' and 'the allegory form' in this work. 「Seoyougee」 is the anti-realistic novel which digs into the intellectual historical meaning through the allegorical form-technique, which is buried under deep place of the individual and history based on the enquiring wreathen-dream structure of the romance style. The meaning and function of the archaeological research that drives the narration of the novel excavate the distorted meaning shape which is laid under the individual's deep layer, remythologize the image of the basic experience that is discovered at the end point of this work with people's group unconscious wish, and embrace the symbolic fiction esthetics which intends to recover the multilated history and life. The new perceptional prospect on the human and historic life that is extracted allegorically through the dialectic reciprocal action between individual dimension and historical dimension and the bygone ages and modern times, will be guaranteed to be the worth of the modern novel which the archaeological imagination of the 「Seoyougee」 has accomplished.
