유아 숲체험교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 효과

Abstract

본 연구는 유아 숲체험교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 이를 만 5세 유아에게 적용하여 유아의 사회·정서 발달 및 과학적 탐구능력, 그리기 표상능력에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 숲이나 자연과 관련된 교육프로그램 문헌고찰 및 선행연구 분석을 토대로 유아 숲체험교육 프로그램의 목적 및 목표를 설정하고 교육내용으로 오감각 교육, 사회·정서 교육, 과학 탐구 교육, 얘술 교육을 구성하며, 6개의 자연물(애벌레, 곤충, 나무, 나뭇잎, 꽃, 물)을 중심으로 한 통합적인 프로그램을 구성하였다. 프로그램의 교수-학습방법은 교수-학습원리, 교수-학습단계와 교사의 역할로 구성하고 유아평가와 교사평가로 구분한 후 예비연구, 전문가 협의를 거쳐 최종적으로 프로그램을 개발하였다. 프로그램의 적용효과를 검증하기 위해 강원도의 H군 어린이집 만 5세 20명을 연구대상으로 하여 4주간 총 17회 프로그램을 실시하였고, 자료분석은 공변량 분석(ANCOVA)으로 실시하였다. 연구결과 유아 숲체험교육 프로그램은 만 5세 유아의 사회·정서 발달 및 과학적 탐구능력, 그리기 표상능력 발달에 효과가 있음을 나타내는 결과로 본 프로그램이 유아교육현장에 적용해볼 가치가 있음을 시사해준다.

The purpose of this study was to develop the forest education program for young children and to analyze the effects of this program after applying it to five-year-old children. The program was constructed in terms of purpose, goals, contents, instructional methods, and evaluation through review of the literature, preliminary investigation and experts’ consultation. In order to investigate the effects of the program, the subjects were settled into an experimental group and a comparison group in two child-care centers located in Gangwon province. The program was run 17 times during 4 weeks. In order to analyze the effect of the program on children’s social-emotional ability, scientific inquiry ability and drawing-symbolizing ability, pre-tests and post-tests were conducted before and after applying the program. The results were analyzed with SPSS 18.0 using Anaysis of Convariance(ANCOVA). The results on the effects of the program were as follows. First, the average of social emotional ability of experimental group appeared statistically significantly higher than that of comparison group. Second, the average of scientific inquiry of experimental group appeared to be statistically significantly higher compared to comparison group. Third, in case of drawing-symbolizing ability, the average of experimental group was statistically significantly higher than comparison group. This study indicates that the forest education program is applicable and valuable to the field of early childhood education.
