연좌제 피해자들의국가폭력 경험에 대한 사례연구 - 끝없는 도망자로 살아남기

Abstract

본 연구는 현재 백만 명 이상으로 추산되는 연좌제 피해자들의 삶의 경험을 사회적 기억으로 재생산하고자 했다. 본 연구의 참여자들은 최대변량표집법으로 연좌제 피해자 5명을 선정하여 구성되었다. 연구방법은 연좌제피해자들의 삶을 질적 사례연구방법으로 접근하여 분석했다. 자료 분석 결과는 5명의 참여자들의 구술데이터를 통해 19개의 개별 사례 내 주제를 구성했고 이러한 개별주제들을 공속성의 차원에서 재결집하여 사례 간 교차공통 주제 4개를 도출해냈다. 국민 아닌 국민으로서의 사회적 기회의 제한과 순치(馴致)의 삶, 원죄의 불안으로 인해 끝없이 탈주하는 삶, 근린체계에서 가해진 사적 폭력, 공포가 사라진 회색지대에서의 허무주의로 구성했다. 이러한 참여자들의 삶은 비(非)국민으로 시작하여 반(反)국민으로 끝난 삶으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통하여 제도적 국가폭력에 노출되었던 피해자들의 상처를 치유하고 시대적 상처를 치유하는 사회복지학계의 사회적기억방식에 대한 지평을 넓힐 수 있는 방향을 제시하였다.

The objective of this study is to present the experience of approximately over a million victims who have been subjected to Implication System. We selected 5 participants by using maximum variation sampling method. Their experience was analyzed by qualitative case study method. The results of the study were categorized into 19 individual topics based on the transcripts from interview with the study participants, and these topics were reorganized into four common themes. The four themes are as follows-limited societal opportunity laden with domestication, life as runaways from the original perpetration, violence done in privacy within the victim’s community, and nihilism in the grey area in the absence of fear. In essence, the social status of the study participants started as noncitizens and ended as anticitizens. In conclusion, this study presents a possible approach to address and better understand the trauma of the victims exposed to communal and systematic state violence in its attempts to broaden the contemporary knowledge base and practice of social work for the victims of collective punishment.
