韓國人의 地域 間 커뮤니케이션 스타일 比較 硏究

Abstract

이 硏究의 目的은 韓國人의 地域 간 커뮤니케이션 스타일을 比較하여 그 特徵을 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 Norton(1983)의 설문지를 활용하여 서울, 경기․인천, 충청, 전라, 경상 5개 地域 295명의 응답자를 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 그 結果 다섯 가지 사실을 確認할 수 있었다. 첫 번째는 地域別 커뮤니케이션 스타일의 差異에서 서울 地域은 非活動的 性向이 강하고, 경상도는 活動的인 性向이 강하며, 충청도는 가장 두 스타일의 差異를 發見하기 어려운 地域이었다는 점이고, 두 번째는 韓國人의 응답에서는 논쟁적인 스타일이 정확한 스타일과 지배적인 스타일과 有關하게 묶인다는 것이었다. 세 번째는 지배적인 스타일은 韓國人에게 있어서 정확한 類型이면서 활동적인 類型이었고, 활동적인 類型으로서 지배적인 스타일은 인상적인 스타일과 有關한 관련성을 갖는다는 結果를 얻었다. 이러한 硏究 結果는 기존의 커뮤니케이션 스타일의 地域的 특성에 대한 고정관념을 實驗的으로 證明했을 뿐 아니라 地域 間 커뮤니케이션 스타일로 인한 誤解를 解消하기 위한 方法論을 硏究하는 기초자료로 活用할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study aimed to examine the characteristics of the interregional communication styles of South Koreans. This study employed the Communication Style Measure (CSM) of Norton (1983) to conduct a survey of295 participants from five regions, who were in 20s. The result showed significant differences between the interregional communication styles. First, the communication style in Seoul appeared to be inact style, Gyeongsang-do demonstrated act style, and Chungcheong-do’s style showed hardly any variation from the two styles. Second, contrary to previous research, South Koreans appeared to be related to the contentious style, precise style, and dominant style. Third, in the case of South Koreans, the dominant style appeared to be precise and act. Here, the dominant style, as the act style, appeared to be significantly related to the impressive style. Finally, the survey of the stable style had no significance with regard to South Koreans.
