청소년의 감사, 희망, 유머, 삶의 만족도 및 학교적응 간의 관계

Abstract

본 연구에서는 중학교 2학년에 재학 중인 학생, 총 462명을 대상으로 그들의 감사, 희망, 유머, 삶의 만족도 및 학교적응이 어떠한 관계를 가지며, 성별에 따라 이들 변인들 간에 차이가 있는지를 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구 결과, 감사, 희망, 유머는 삶의 만족도와 학교적응 변인과 정적 상관을 가지며, 삶의 만족도와 학교적응 변인들 중 ‘학교/규율’ 요인과 ‘학교/교사’ 요인은 감사와 희망과 각각 가장 높은 상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 성별에 따른 변인들의 차이를 규명한 결과, 여학생이 남학생에 비해 학교적응 변인들 중 ‘교우관계’ 요인이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 감사와 희망은 삶의 만족도와 학교적응에 정적으로 직접적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 유머는 삶의 만족도와 학교적응에 유의한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 감사와 희망은 학교적응을 거쳐 삶의 만족도에 정적으로 간접적인 영향을 미치기도 하지만, 삶의 만족도를 거쳐 학교적응에도 정적으로 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학생들의 삶의 만족도와 학교적응을 증진시키기 위해서는 학생들로 하여금 감사하는 마음과 미래에 대해 희망적인 태도를 갖도록 독려 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구 결과는 학교현장에서 학생들의 교육을 담당하는 교사들에게 학생 지도 및 교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This study was to examine the relationship between gratitude hope, humor, life satisfaction and school adjustment. 462 junior-high school students from Seoul and Kyunggi area in Korea completed and retuned the questionnaires. Pearson’s correlations indicated that gratitude, hope, and humor was positively associated with life satisfaction and school adjustment. Independent t-tests showed that female students had higher ‘relations with other students’ factor in school adjustment than male students. The structural equation model supported that gratitude and hope had direct effects on life satisfaction and school adjustment. Lastly, there were mediating effects of gratitude, hope and school adjustment on life satisfaction. In addition, there were mediating effects of gratitude, hope and life satisfaction on school adjustment. Results are discussed in relation to theoretical implications in school settings.
