- Archives of Virology publishes original contributions from all branches of research on viruses and virus-like agents that infect humans and other animals, plants, insects, and bacteria. Coverage includes the broadest spectrum of topics, from initial descriptions of newly discovered viruses, to studies of virus structure, composition, replication, genetics, phylogeny, immunity, as well as of virus interactions with host cells, host organisms, and host populations. Submission of papers describing applied research in vaccine and antiviral drug development as well as diagnostics, including high throughput sequencing, bioinformatics and the discovery of new viruses are also encouraged In all cases, it is the quality of the research work, its significance, and originality that will determine acceptability.
