1912年刊 『局員須知 日鮮會話』와 近代 日本語

Abstract

본 논문은 1912년 2월에 일본에서 간행된 『局員須知 日鮮會話』의 내용을 살펴봄과 동시에 근대 일본어, 특히 메이지(明治)후기 일본어의 연구 자료로서 본서가 가지고 있는 가치를 생각해 보고자 한 것이다. 조선총독부 토지조사국에서 발간한 본서는 메이지기 일본에서 간행된 여타의 한국어 학습서와는 달리 특정 행정 담당자들(局員)의 공무집행을 위한 학습서라는 특징을 가지고 있다. 따라서 개화기에 도입된 행정용어들이 등장한다는 점에서 한국어에 도입된 일본한자어 연구에 귀중한 정보를 제공해줄 것으로 판단된다. 조사의 결과, 본서의 일본어에는 동사의 활용형, 당위표현, 가능표현 등에서 근대일본어의 과도기적인 언어현상이 반영되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 본서에 보이는 「カバン」과 같은 한국어 대역어에는 근대 어휘사 연구에 활용할 수 있는 흥미 있는 현상을 확인할 수 있었다.

This thesis aims to look into the contents of Kyokuinshuchi Nissenkaiwa(局員須知 日鮮會話) published in February, 1912 in Japan and to take its value into consideration as a research material for Japanese language of the late Meiji period. This book was published by the Land Survey Bureau of the Japanese Government-General of Korea. Unlike other Korean study materials published during the Meiji period in Japan, it was originally made as a study material for the people who needed to execute official duties. For this reason, this book contains administrative terminology that were used during the time of enlightenment in Korea. Therefore, it is believed that this book will provide valuable information for the study of Japanese Kanji that influenced Korean language. Through the research, it was found that this book taught the use of verbs, appropriate expressions and ‘can/able’ expressions in Japanese language during the transition period for Modern Japanese. In addition, this book contains many interesting Korean translated terms such as kaban(カバン), which also can be used in the research of modern vocabulary history.
