산중신곡의 연작성과 그 의미

Abstract

이 논문은 고산 윤선도의 ≪산중신곡≫에 관한 고찰이다. ≪산중신곡≫은 <어부사시사>와 함께 고산의 대표작으로 꼽히는 작품이다. 따라서 그동안에도 ≪산중신곡≫에 대한 논의는 많이 이루어졌지만, 연시조로서 ≪산중신곡≫에 대한 관심은 부족하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 ≪산중신곡≫을 18수의 연시조로 바라보아, 그것의 연작성과 함께 그 의미를 살펴보았다. 주지하다시피 ≪산중신곡≫은 고산 2차 유배에서 해배된 후, 금쇄동에 머물던 시기에 창작된 작품이다. ≪산중신곡≫이 고산의 금쇄동 생활을 국문 시조로 기록한 것이라면, 한문 기록으로는 <金鎖洞記>가 전한다. 그러므로 ≪산중신곡≫의 연작성에 고찰하기에 앞서 ≪산중신곡≫과 <금쇄동기>의 관계를 파악하였다. 이어 연시조로서의 ≪산중신곡≫에 주목하였다. ≪산중신곡≫은 <만흥>(6수), 6수의 단형시조, <오우가>(6수)의 세 가지 하위 범주를 지닌다. 이들은 각각 ‘知分知足의 흥겨움, 시대의 어려움과 기다림, 자연을 벗함’을 중심내용으로 하고 있다. 이러한 감정의 변화는, 세상을 떠나 山水를 선택하여 머물며 자연에 동화되는 과정을 나타내는 것이라 하겠다. 본 연구로써 ≪산중신곡≫은 18수가 유기적으로 연결된 연시조로서 지니는 의미를 확인하였다. 또한 작품이 진행됨에 따라 변화하는 화자의 감정은 문학 치료적 의미를 지님으로써 향후 또 다른 연구의 가능성도 시사한다.

This paper is a review of Gosan (孤山) Yun Seon-do (尹善道)’s Sanjung Singok. Sanjung Singok is considered a representative work of Gosan, along with Eobu Sasisa (漁父四時詞), in several discussions of Sanjung Singok. However, there has been a lack of interest in Sanjung Singok as a Yeonsijo. Therefore, in this study, the meaning of Sanjung Singok was examined, along with its serial composition, by looking at the Yeonsijo (연시조) of 18 works. Sanjung Singok was created when Gosan stayed in Geumswa-dong (금쇄동) after being discharged from the Second Exile in Gosan. Sanjung Singok is a record of Gosan’s life in Geumswa-dong in Korean, while Geumswadong-gi (金鎖洞記) is recorded in Chinese. Therefore, before examining the serial composition of Sanjung Singok, the relationship between Sanjung Singok and Geumswadong-gi was explored. In addition, this study focused on Sanjung Singok as a Yeonsijo. Sanjung Singok has three sub-categories: Manheung (漫興; six works), simple Sijo (six works), and Ouga (五友歌; six works). Each of them focuses on the excitement of Jibun Jijok (知分知足), the difficulties of the times, and the friendship of nature. This cycle of emotion represents the process of leaving the world, choosing a landscape, staying there, and assimilating with nature. This study confirmed that Sanjung Singok holds the meaning of 18 works of Sijo as an organically connected Yeonsijo. In addition, the speaker’s emotions, which change as the work progresses, indicate literary therapy, suggesting the possibility of future studies.
