Study on Sneaker Fever: Transition from Collection to Digital Art

Abstract

This study aims to review the history of how sneakers create a massive impact in our society by revolutionizing the market and why lots of people go enthusiastic for them. It utilizes literature research approach to analyze sneaker fever in the culture of collection and even in the form of digital art boom. It explores how and when sneakers become a craze of more than just being a feet protection and how they become a form of digital art through NFT etc. In conclusion, it suggests that the sneaker fever can be explained by several social science theories like the social identity theory, the law of supply and demand, and the concept of the fear of missing (FOMO).

본 연구는 운동화가 어떻게 시장혁신을 통해 우리 사회에 영향을 끼치고 있는지, 왜 많은 사람들이 열광하는지에 대해 검토한다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 수집문화부터 디지털아트 형식의 유행에 이르는 운동화 열풍에 대해 분석하기 위해 문헌적 연구방법을 사용한다. 연구내용: 단순히 발 보호의 역할을 담당하던 운동화가 어떻게 그리고 언제부터 유행하게 되었는지, 또한 어떻게 NTF 등을 통해 디지털아트화 되었는지 알아보았다. 결론 및 제언: 운동화열풍은 사회정체성이론, 수요공급의 법칙, 잊히는 것에 대한 두려움인 포모증후군 등에 의해 설명될 수 있는 사회적 현상이다.
