- Abstract
- Gimhae City, which is located in the south province of South Korea, is a city with abundant of cultural and traditional value from one of the main historical confederacy that based on the southern Korea during Three Kingdom Samhan Period, The Gaya Confederacy. The local government had developed city color palettes for the city and desired to developed the city into a harmony and aesthetic living environment. A Gimhae City Color system of 110 Environmental Colors, 60 Regional Colors, 10 Representative Colors, 2 Secondary Colors and a Symbolic Color had been developed during the previous project. This study introduced the Gimhae city pattern development that recommended to be applied on the visual design, media and environment design of the city. The pattern had been designed and arranged based on the Gaya culture heritages' representative graphics that developed during 2013. By using the environmental city color palettes of Gimhae, total of 53 patterns had been developed in this study. A guideline and recommendation of pattern application for the 4 main festivals of Gimhae City also had been developed in this study.
