Abstract

A small library is a lifestyle library that is being used as a cultural space for local residents and a hub for community revitalization. This study studies small libraries that consider regional characteristics and provide services needed in the region as living-friendly libraries. In addition, the purpose of the project is to propose a construction process for such a small library. In response, three public small libraries located in Ansan-si shall be identified as examples of volunteer areas and regional characteristics. It then derives its association with the central role of that small library. This is to suggest the regional characteristics of small libraries and the construction process considering them. Finally, the study expects to solve the problem of the closure of small libraries.
