- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to contribute to the process - centered theoretical contribution of sports volunteer participation behavior of college students by examining the causal relationship between sports participation, social capital and voluntary participation intention of college students. For this purpose, 597 college students in the metropolitan area and provinces were randomly selected, and the data were used for the actual analysis. The research model test using the structural equation model analysis and the significance test of the indirect effect were conducted and the following conclusions were derived.
First, the participation of college students in sport affects social capital positively. Second, the social capital of college students positively influences the intention to participate in sports volunteering. Third, the sports participation of college students positively influences the volunteer participation intention of sport volunteer. Fourth, the social capital of college students plays a mediator role in the relationship between sport participation and sport volunteering.
