- Abstract
- Wireless Ad Hoc network is a special multi-hop network without a centralized administration. Because of this, the application of the traditional 802.11DCF protocol in Ad Hoc network may cause the hidden terminal, exposed terminal, unfairness and the decrease of throughput problems. Based on the analysis of the drawbacks and the reason when the existing MAC protocols are used in the Ad Hoc network, we propose a dynamic backoff scheme for ad hoc network. Analysis and simulation results show that the new algorithm can effectively improve the channel access fairness than the original BEB backoff algorithm and its improvement class. Its implement is simple and brings no increase of additional spending.
