Abstract
This study conducted to improve the problems of design ability limitations, space requirements, and building material costs, which are defects of the steel plate shear wall frame system. Through finite element analysis, the hysteric behaviors of the steel plate shear wall frame specimen, the central opening specimen, the hole shape specimen, the side opening specimen, the complex specimens-1 and the complex specimens-2 were compared. The target specimens consisted of a three-story frame with a single span, and a total of six specimens were planned. The analysis model for the specimen was developed without considering details such as welding and bolt joints. The analysis results indicated that the ductility, energy dissipation capacity, and strength of the specimen with an opening or hole shape were not excessively reduced compared to the steel plate shear wall frame model. The analysis result value of the complex specimens was derived higher than that of the steel plate shear wall frame specimen. This is the result of flexibly receiving the stress generated by the load by increasing the ductility of the entire model by applying an appropriate system to the moment of each story of specimens.
