- Abstract
- Electrospinning is widely used to produce one-dimensional (1-D) fibers with high-aspect ratio. However, there have been no attempts to fabricate neodymium-iron-boron-oxide (Nd-Fe-B-O) fibers through this method. Considering the coercivity enhancement owing to their enhanced shape anisotropy attributed to the fibrous structure, herein, we prepared fibrous Nd-Fe-B-O. The precursor fibers were prepared by electrospinning. This was followed by heat treatment, for which three different temperatures were employed (900, 1000, and 1100 degrees C). Furthermore, the effects of the calcination temperature were examined in terms of the quantities of phases and the fibers' crystal sizes. The mass percentage and crystallite sizes differed depending on the calcination temperature. The higher the calcination temperature, the bigger the crystallite sizes of all phases were. The targeted Nd2Fe14B fiber exhibited a coercivity of 7192 Oe. (C) 2019 Published by Elsevier B.V.
