- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to examine the necessary skills and abilities required for personal trainers, based on the experiences of trainers who have taught the body profile program. Additionally, this study aims to explore the tight perception of body profile and the direction of education in this field. To this end, narrative exploration, a qualitative research method, was conducted. Four trainers with experience in guiding the body profile program were selected.
The following research results were derived by analyzing the stories of their experiences. First, general members and body profile member management have different goals, members who aim for body profiles organize professional and intensive exercise programs like athletes participating in bodybuilding competitions to exercise and systematic diet management to create the best physical condition for body profiles. Second, the importance of trainer' abilities was emphasized when guiding body profiles.
Trainers need experience in body profile shooting and abundant guidance experience, and not only simple exercise, but also the role of understanding, motivation, and mental care to meet the needs of members.
Third, there was also a positive image that it was the purpose of a new exercise due to the prevalence of body profiles, but on the contrary, there were negative images caused by stimulating photos, causing side effects due to excessive exercise.
