- Abstract
- Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the significance and satisfaction of GPS-based physical exercise application acceptance intention using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA).
Method: The questionnaire was distributed to 285 Strava users both online and offline between October 26 and November 24, 2023. A total of 280 questionnaires were used for the study, excluding those that were insincere or did not respond. For data processing, we used frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, and IPA Matrix to identify the coordinates located in each quadrant using SPSS version 27.0.
Results: In the first quadrant, the device is convenient to use anytime and anywhere, compatible with other devices, provides information about achieving exercise records, accurate exercise information, accurate information on courses and maps, physical activity data, overall design composition and efficient interface, privacy protection, convenient icons and interfaces, understanding of easy and fast exercise information, and overall privacy protection. Second, the second quadrant included the reliability of security levels and the cost-effectiveness of contents. Third, the third quadrant included responding to customer inquiries, exchanging information using SNS, forming relationships between users, providing exercise notification functions, and ensuring the privacy of my information. Fourth, the fourth quadrant included appropriate images, the correct video ratio, post comments, and the like function.
Conclusion: This study focused on analuzing user intentions using the IPA Matrix within the context of Strava, a GPS-based physical exercise application. The study results will help to identify the social phenomena present in different sports. By conducting research using various physical activity applications in addition to Strava, a wide range of business models can be derived.
