- Abstract
- There are a total of 114 embassies in Korea, but some are stand-alone buildings while some are renting space in an office building. 61 countries, more than half, unfortunately, do not own their buildings but share a building. For instance, there are 7 embassies in one building. Due to financial reasons, these embassies cannot afford to have their independent buildings. Nowadays, shared spaces are prevalent, and we should rethink of how to design a future embassy. To promote better diplomacy and collaboration with different countries, my research and project examines how embassies can share spaces to create a more sustainable future, in the case of the embassies of Japan, Finland, Denmark, Serbia, Nigeria, and the Dominican Republic.
