- Abstract
- Should history with hidden urban heritage and artifacts be forgotten? As cities grow and develop, these hidden ruins are inevitably revealed to us. Is it right to erase all traces of our history in order to make room for new developments? Is it appropriate to cover up an excavation once a buried heritage is revealed? My research and paper on the urban ruins of the Forgotten Kingdom will explore howarchitecture and these historical buried ruins can coexist and how we can preserve the memory of the old and the new with a new cultural complex in Pungnapdong. As we have seen in China’s Northeast Project, we need to rethink our perception of preserving history and culture.
