- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of the measurement method for standing long jump that is consistent with the characteristics of Taekwondo. To do this, eight-directional standing long jump was performed on 15 Taekwondo sparring athletes, 13 poomsae athletes, and 10 demonstration athletes. Group differences according to direction were analyzed using two-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to examine the correlation between the seven directions of standing long jump for each group. Additionally, cross-analysis was conducted to verify the consistency among the measurement methods of standing long jump in each of the seven directions, using chi-square (χ2), Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, and kappa statistic. The results showed that the main effects of group and direction were significant, but there was no interaction effect between direction and group. For all directions, there was no correlation between standing long jump and sparring athletes, while poomsae athletes showed correlations in the standing long jump of front left, front right, right, rear, and rear right. Demonstration athletes showed correlations in the standing long jump of front left, front right, right, left, and front. The consistency among the measurement methods of each seven direction, using front standing long jump as a criterion, showed significant associations on the right side, with a 23.4% agreement rate. Therefore, it was concluded that there is a need to reflect the characteristics of each sport in order to secure the validity of the agility measurement method, as the group differences, correlation, and consistency of standing long jump are low.
