Abstract

Hydrostatic thrust bearings support an axial load of turbomachinery with low wear and friction. The current work introduces an improved predictive model to investigate dynamic load characteristics of hydrostatic thrust bearings. The present bearing model predicts dynamic stiffness and damping coefficients with large amplitude vibration.
