dc.description.abstractSwitching Impulse which suddenly flows into during dc steady state operation has higher possibility of breakdown because it increases electrical stress instantaneously. In this paper, electric field analysis considering switching impulse superimposed condition was performed regarding Pre-Molded cable Joint (PMJ) model, which consisted of Cross Linking-Polyethylene (XLPE) and Silicon Rubber (SiR). Consequently, it was observed that electric field intensity was highly influenced by superposition of switching impulse in the rising part of side-semiconductor and the influential polarity of superimposed switching impulse was negative. From the results, it was found that superimposed condition should be considered for insulation design of PMJ.-
