- Abstract
- A simple method for achieving dual-wavelength operation in a dual-cavity laser configuration incorporating an etalon and a quarter-wave plate is reported. By adjusting the tilt angle of the etalon and the rotation angle of the quarter-wave plate in a dual-cavity laser, we could select the excited laser wavelength with σ-polarization while independently controlling the cavity loss of the resonating beam with π-polarization, enabling us robust dual-wavelength laser operation. This approach has been applied to a Nd:YVO4 laser, yielding robust dual-wavelength laser operation with an adjustable power ratio at 1064 nm and 1067 nm (or 1063 nm). The output characteristics and the prospects for further improvement are also discussed. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.
