- Abstract
- Recently, it is being predicted that North Korea tends to develop nuclear weapons not for ordinary heating, storming, radioactivity damage but for a type of HEMP(High-altitude Electromagnetic Pulse) to incapacitate electromagnetic equipments. We need to recognize that EMP(Electro Magnetic Pulse) attack might be conducted from North Korea. In this study, to obtain SE(Shielding Effectiveness) of concrete structure, metal materials which have good conductivity were mixed in concrete specimen for shielding magnetic pulse in itself. Also, specimens were compared according to the mixing materials that ASTMSM(Arc Thermal Metal Spraying Method) is applied or not. As a result, it was found that concrete with ATMS film of Zn-Al metal shows satisfiable performance of SE. In conclusion, concrete with ATMSM is judged to has high possibility of application as HEMP shelding material.
