- Abstract
- In this paper, we investigate a cross-layer cooperative strategies for a cognitive network consisting of a primary transmitter-receiver pair and a secondary transmitter-receiver pair. If a packet transmitted by the primary transmitter is not successfully received by the primary receiver but is captured by the secondary transmitter, then the secondary transmitter assumes responsibility for completing the transmission of the primary packet in addition to serving its own packet using superposition coding (SC), simultaneously. The primary system releases packets from its queue more quickly, thereby the secondary system gains an opportunity for transmission.
