- Abstract
- In this paper, the interference management scheme in device-to-device (D2D) communication underlaying cellular networks is proposed to mitigate the inter-cell interference. the proposed scheme is a hybrid of fractional frequency reuse (FFR) and almost blank subframe (ABS) scheme. The ABS is one of the time-domain techniques proposed in enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) framework as a candidate for deployment in LTE-Advanced. For the system, we propose blanking some subframes at a cellular user equipment (CUE) considered as aggressor for protecting (D2D) pairs considered as victims from the interference caused by the aggressor to the victims in the cell edge area. However this is done to the sacrifice of the CUE in the cell-edge area of the neighboring sectors. In the performance analysis, we compared the convention FFR and the hybrid FFR-ABS where the hybrid FFRR-ABS increase the SINR by reducing the high level of interference faced by D2D pairs in the cell edge area.
