- Abstract
- Random access plays important role in modern communication systems not only for establishing connections in cellular systems but also for direct packet transmission in wireless local area networks. One of the key difficulties of operating random access is the varying the number of users who have packets to transmit. In this paper, we propose a transmission control algorithm that estimates the number users who have packets to transmit over slots and control the transmission probability of users accordingly. In particular, our proposed algorithm can accommodate the phenomenon that the broadcast for the optimal transmission probability could be delayed possibly due to limited resource for control channels. Extensive simulations show that the proposed algorithm can stabilize the varying system traffic and control average access delay effectively in random access network. © 2020 IEEE.
